Today, proceed for an excursion to the famous Elephanta Caves, situated on Elephanta Island in Mumbai Harbour.

From the Gateway of India, enjoy a scenic ferry ride across Mumbai Harbour to reach Elephanta Island. On arrival, proceed towards the caves, which are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are among the finest examples of rock-cut architecture in western India.

The cave complex consists of rock-cut temples and sculptures, predominantly dedicated to Lord Shiva. The most celebrated sculpture is the magnificent Trimurti, a three-headed representation of Shiva depicting his roles as creator, preserver and destroyer. Other impressive panels depict various episodes associated with Hindu mythology and the life of Lord Shiva.

After exploring the caves, return by ferry to Mumbai and transfer back to the hotel.

Upon arrival at Aurangabad Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Aurangabad serves as the principal gateway for visiting the internationally renowned Ajanta and Ellora Caves.

Afternoon visit the spectacular Ellora Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The complex comprises 34 major rock-cut caves and monuments representing three major religious traditions – Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism – and reflects the spirit of religious harmony that existed in ancient India.

The most extraordinary monument at Ellora is the magnificent Kailasa Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The entire temple complex was carved vertically from a single massive rock and is considered one of the greatest achievements of ancient Indian architecture and engineering.

Also visit Bibi Ka Maqbara, one of Aurangabad's most prominent Mughal monuments. Commissioned by Prince Azam Shah in memory of his mother, Dilras Banu Begum, the monument is known for its elegant Mughal architecture and resemblance to the Taj Mahal, earning it the popular title "Taj of the Deccan."

Today, proceed to explore the magnificent Ajanta Caves, located approximately 105 km from Aurangabad.

The Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are a remarkable collection of ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves dating from approximately the 2nd century BCE onwards. The caves are renowned for their beautiful Buddhist paintings, frescoes, sculptures and intricately carved interiors.

The paintings and sculptures depict episodes from the life of Buddha, stories from the Jataka tales and fascinating scenes reflecting the social, religious and cultural life of ancient India. The remarkable preservation and artistic quality of these works make Ajanta one of India's most significant archaeological treasures.

Later, transfer to Aurangabad Airport in time to board your flight back to Mumbai.

This morning, embark on a guided sightseeing tour of Mumbai.

Visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum. Housed in a magnificent heritage building, it is one of India's prominent museums and contains an extensive collection of sculptures, paintings, decorative arts, archaeological artefacts and objects representing India's rich history and cultural heritage.

Continue to Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, an important landmark associated with Mahatma Gandhi. Mani Bhavan served as Gandhi's headquarters in Mumbai during an important period of India's freedom movement. Today, the building houses photographs, documents, books, letters and personal memorabilia that provide an interesting insight into his life and philosophy.

Thereafter, stop for an outside view of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST). This magnificent railway station is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Mumbai's most recognisable landmarks. Its architecture beautifully combines Victorian Gothic Revival elements with traditional Indian architectural influences.

In the evening, transfer to Mumbai International Airport in time to board your flight to onward destination.
